In this role, you will be responsible for:

Gather, analyze and convert business requirements into AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud-based solutions. Build and test Cloud-based applications for new and existing backend systems to help development teams migrate them to the Cloud. Guide and support team members in managing existing and developing new Cloud applications. Design and build multi-tenant systems capable of loading and transforming a large volume of structured and semi-structured fast-moving data. Build platform reusable code and components that can be used by multiple project teams. Develop and provide RESTful web services to integrate with other systems and platforms. Provide Cloud integration development support to various internal project teams. Maintain and document standards, best practices and design/architecture patterns. Deliver proven best practices for resiliency, scalability, optimization and security that utilize Cloud technologies/assets and facilitate Cloud integration goals for internal business units. Assist business units in performance optimization, troubleshooting and problem resolution. Oversee (without supervisory authority) up to 3 data analysts and/or developers. Tools and technologies used: AWS, Hortonworks Distribution for Hadoop, YARN, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, MapReduce, Luigi, Java, Python, Scala, SQL, Spark SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Airflow, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Git, RESTful Microservices, Docker Containers, Linux, EC2, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, and AWS EMR. 

FOR THIS ROLE, WE ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE:

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with an information technology focus (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) plus 3 years of experience in software design and development (would also accept a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience). This must include: 3 years of experience in: delivering end-to-end strategy for Big Data analytics tools (including architecting open source-based tools, and designing, building and implementing Big Data solutions); Hortonworks and/or Cloudera Distribution for Hadoop, Hive, Impala, MapReduce, and SQL; and Python. 2 years of experience in:  Cloud (such as AWS and/or Azure); design and development of Apache Spark-based applications using Scala and Spark SQL. 1 year of experience in: building CI/CD with Jenkins, Maven and/or Gradle, and Git and/or similar VCS; application development using Agile scrum; Docker Container orchestration with AWS ECS and Compute services (using EC2 and EMR); AWS Load balancer, AWS S3, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle. Any level of experience in and/or knowledge of: RESTful Microservices.
