ABOUT THIS JOB

Focus on developing software solutions for the International TAM (Total Audience Measurement) business. Specifically, the development of Nielsen’s production software for Television, Radio and other devices audience measurement. In this role, it is expected that the candidate will help develop the TAM production software using modern technologies/platforms and help provide support in migrating from legacy solutions to next generation software. The candidate is expected to work in partnership with other team members in a fast paced, agile and International environment. This requires not only the technical expertise that will be required but also collaboration and soft skills to work well in a team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop, test and document new software features required by the business
  • Become knowledgeable on existing software solutions in order to maintain them
  • Support migration from legacy solutions
  • Investigate application incidents for missing or incorrect functionality
  • Perform code reviews

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working on enterprise level software
  • Experience with C/C++
  • Experience with Shell scripting (bash)
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational database system
  • Basic knowledge of Python
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to change
  • Good command of English, further European languages preferred
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with other stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes
  • Knowledge of version control, particularly Git (Gitlab)
  • Knowledge of AWS
  • Knowledge of Pandas library
  • Knowledge of Spark
  • Knowledge of Firebird relational database system
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio C++ and MFC
  • Knowledge of Microservice architectures (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems (GitLab/Jenkins/etc)
  • Basics of Visual Basic
  • Experience or willingness to work in an Agile environment (e.g. Scrum)
